Jan Willem Doorenbos ,born in 1949, started his career as a journalist specializing in science and scientific reporting. In the early 80s he was active in the field of research, astronomy and nuclear warfare. His visual documentary on the effects of a nuclear bomb on Rotterdam was shared all over the world.
Out of this work he started to develop the first computer-based animations in the Netherlands. He developed leaders for Dutch television and commercial companies. Among his clients : Fokker Aircraft, Thalys, Phillips, Shell, Sanoma, ING, ABN Amro,Technicolor, IBM, AkzoNobel, etc. He was lead developer of virtual stage, a program with the University of Amsterdam and the EU at the first virtual reality installation in Europe in 1994. In the US he worked closely together with Time Warner in the development of web based applications starting in 1993. Dupont was launching customer for his prepress solution.
In 1996 he was part of the first web-based consultancy group that was founded by Gideon Gartner, named Giga. This was the fastest growing consultancy group in the world and that time.
In early 2002 he started to work for KPMG and in combination with the University of Amsterdam and the VU.
